Policies & Disclaimers

Prescription Policy

Providers may prescribe medications as part of a virtual visit when medically indicated, in their sole professional judgment. State laws and regulations may limit your provider’s ability to prescribe certain medications by virtual visit. If your provider determines that a prescription is indicated, he/she will comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations and will only prescribe such medication as he/she determines appropriate in his/her sole discretion and professional judgment. NOTE: Prescriptions for DEA controlled substances or scheduled medications, non-therapeutic drugs, and certain other drugs that may be harmful because of their potential for abuse may only be prescribed by your primary care provider.

Any prescriptions are solely for the patient’s personal use. Patients must fully and carefully read all provided product information and labels and contact their primary care provider or pharmacist with any questions regarding their prescription.

Informed Consent

You should seek emergency help or consult with your primary care physician and other healthcare professionals as recommended. We may make arrangements for follow-up care either through your primary care provider, a health system partner or other health care providers. If you do not have a designated primary care provider within the Precision Mental Health network, one will be assigned who can accommodate your needs and location.

If the transmission fails during your virtual visit, the physician will attempt to contact you directly at the number you provided to get reconnected. You will have direct access to Precision Mental Health’s customer support services to follow-up on medication reactions, side effects, or other adverse events.

Patients should use their best judgment to ensure they are not endangering others while trying to connect for a virtual visit.

Fraud Prevention and Security

Precision Mental Health may contact you by telephone, mail or email to verify any information you provide for a virtual visit. Precision Mental Health may request further information from you and you agree to provide such further information to ensure you have not provided false information. If you do not provide this information in the manner requested within 15 days of the request, Precision Mental Health reserves the right to suspend, discontinue or deny your access to and use of the virtual visit site and services until you provide the requested information.

Minors

Under most state’s laws, minors do not need consent from a parent/guardian to receive treatment for certain symptoms and conditions including treatment for mental health issues, substance abuse disorder, pregnancy / contraception, sexually transmitted infections and in emergency situations. In addition, if a minor has an established relationship with a Precision Mental Health provider, a provider may provide certain routine care via a virtual visit without the parent or guardian being present.

If a minor patient does not have an established relationship with a Precision Mental Health provider, a virtual visit is only available for those situations in which the minor can consent to his or her own treatment under applicable state law.
